Here is what «Virtual Piano» it offers:

1. «Virtual Piano» will be useful to the musician in the most various situations (for example to tune musical instrument, to find the key of the heard music, to sound lessons of the musical school, etc.). This program in aggregate with a video projector will allow to explain effectively something for the big audience of pupils of musical schools, colleges and conservatories.
2. The program allows to create and store a collection of the favourite timbres based on possibilities of a midi-synthesizer of a sound card as file collection. Each timbre can be set from one or several various on loudness and transposition timbres (all can be involved from 1 to 16 midi-channels).
3. The virtual piano in aggregate with the external midi-keyboard is like program sound module.
4. The program is free nowadays. In the future versions more difficult management of timbres (division of the keyboard into zones, management of dynamic characteristics of various layers of a sound, etc.) is planned. Author of this program — professional musician Mourat Djoussoupov from Novosibirsk (Russia).

HOW TO INSTALL

1. Launch Setup.exe file, choose destination folder and other settings, press OK and the program will install.
2. To start «Virtual Piano» use blue «Virtual Piano» shortcut on the desktop or go to the Start -> Virtual Piano -> Virtual Piano.
3. To uninstall «Virtual Piano» go to Control panel -> Install and uninstall programs or go to the Start -> Virtual Piano -> Uninstall Virtual Piano
4. Before uninstall it's recommended to create backups of all important files from «Virtual Piano» program folder as uninstall will delete all program components because most users prefer complete uninstall.

THE IMPORTANT TECHNICAL DETAILS:

1. ATTENTION! MIDI-KEYBOARD CAN NOT BE USED WITHOUT OPERATIVE MIDI IN (DISABLED BY DEFAULT ON MOST OF MOTHERBOARDS). If starting the program you have a message saying that it's impossible to use MIDI keyboard the most obvious reason is motherboard MIDI IN disabled (by default)
2. In order to use a MIDI keyboard on board MIDI IN must be configured (as recommended for ASUS P4PE motherboards). You have to restart your computer, press Del to enter Bios Setup Utility. Go to Advanced-> I/O Device Configuration -> On Board Midi I/O. Turn Disabled into Enabled then Save and Exit Bios. After this «Virtual Piano» will work with midi-keyboards well. If necessary activate MPU-401 compatible MIDI-device in Control panel.
3. ATTENTION! IN ORDER TO HEAR SOUNDS IN «Virtual Piano» MAKE SURE THAT MIDI VOLUME CONTROL IN SYSTEM MIXER IS NOT IN THE LOWEST POSITON. All sounds are generated by the MIDI synthesizer of the sound card. Not to hurt organs of hearing before pressing the virtual MIDI keyboard turn the sound volume regulator in system mixer in the lowest position and then pressing a key steadily turn the volume up until you find a desirable position.
4. Settings files (*.vps) icons can be changed in more presentable view and you can open these files with double mouse click. When you open *.vps file for the first time select "Open with..." from context and select VirtualPiano.exe (usually in folder C:\Program Files\Yellow Gold Software\Virtual Piano) and set option "Always use this program to open these files". ATTENTION! After closing of Virtual Piano it is necessary to wait at least 1-2 seconds before anew to open other *.vps file. The program at closing keeps all options in a file, on what the small time interval is required. At opening of *.vps files from already started program no problems arise. It is possible to start some copies Virtual Piano, and each copy will sound as you wish. But only one started copy of the program can work with the external MIDI keyboard (if you set "Use hardware MIDI keyboard" in Menu-> Settings).
